2a. To give Ss listening practice using the target language.
Specific or inferred?
Ask Ss to close their textbooks and just listen and take notes when the recording is being played. Once the conversation has been played, ask Ss to work on this activity in pairs. Do they both agree on the answers? If not, why?
2b. To give Ss practice in listening for specific  items in conversations.
What do your notes say?
Answer the questions in this activity then share the answers  with partner., and the listen to the recording.
Listen again and check the answers.
2c. To give Ss the opportunity to use the target language in conversations.
Play it again
2d. To give Ss the opportunity to use the target language in  controlled manner.
Using your own examples
Role-play the conversation in pairs.
Then rewrite parts of the conversation using your own examples.


Look the notes and decide whether the question is referring to something specific or something inferred from what was said.

Check the answers.      
Role-play the conversation in pairs.
Help Ss role-play the conversation.

Make sure Ss to read the parts with the correct intonation and expression.
