Unit 13 We’re trying to save the earth!
Section B(3a-Selfcheck)
Teaching Procedures
| Tips
| Step 1 Warm up
| | - Ask Ss to complete the chart in 3a. After Ss have completed their individual charts, T may want to ask to show the notes they have made to a partner to get some feedback and revise their notes if they find it necessary.
| | Step 2 Writing&Presentation
| | - Ask Ss to write a letter to the city mayor about the environmental problems in their city. T may want to suggest to Ss that it might be better to focus on one problem and write about it in detail instead of writing about many problems and not providing enough details.
- T can show Ss some writing tips, good sentences and sample writing before Ss start to write by themselves.
- Let Ss look at the diagram in exercise 1 and write different forms of words. At the end of exercise 1, T may want to review prefixed by asking Ss to make a list of words with the two prefixes they encountered in Section B, activity 2d.

- Do the exercises in students’ book.
| | Teaching Reflection
| This is the last period of the unit. Students will use what they have learned in the unit. They will use them to write a letter about how to protect the environment. And they will do a lot of work to practice words and expressions. They review the word formation and learn these words. When finishing a unit, we usually get the students to review the whole unit.
