【语法提要】
1.between…and…
between…and…意为“在……和……之间”,常用于两者之间,不仅可以用于表示在两段时间之间,还可用于表示在两个人、两个地点之间,连接名词或代词。如:
We usually have a meeting between 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.我们通常在上午10点到11点之间开会。
辨析:between与among
between一般指“两者之间”,而among一般指“三者或三者以上之间”。如:
TF boys are very popular among young people.TF boys组合在年轻人中非常受欢迎。
The friendship between them is deep.他们之间的友谊很深厚。
2.not only…but(also)…
not only…but(also)…意为“不但……而且”。
(1)not only 在句首引导并列谓语时用倒装句语序。如:
Not only does he plays basketball well,but he (also) plays soccer ball well.他不但篮球打得好,足球也踢得好。
(2)引导并列主语时,谓语动词的单复数根据靠近谓语的主语来决定。如:
Not only the pens but also the pencil is missing.= Not only the pencil but also the pens are missing.不但那支铅笔,而且那些钢笔都不见了。
