1.would rather
I\'d rather是I would rather的缩写形式,would rather意为“宁愿”，表示主观的愿望、选择。would rather后跟动词原形，即would rather do sth.意为“宁愿做某事”。其否定形式为would rather not do sth.。
例句：I would rather have a cup of tea. 我宁愿喝一杯茶。
He would rather not tell his mother the truth. 他宁可不告诉他妈妈真相。
拓展：would rather do sth. than do sth.相当于prefer to/would do sth. rather than do sth.，意为“宁愿做某事而不愿做某事”。
例句：The old man would rather walk there than take a bus.这位老人宁愿步行去那里也不愿乘坐公共汽车。
